This is a JC Degan company Model 200 Dinner Chime, is sometimes known as a Railroad chime and was also famous as the NBC Radio Chime.

 

JC Deagan started manufacturing the Model 200 in the late 1920’s.  The 200 Series consisted of four chime plates tuned in ascending order to the notes G, C, E, and G and mounted above brass tubular resonators. The two G notes were an octave apart, and the C was one octave above Middle C.

 

This four-note chime were heard on the earliest recordings of the NBC Radio chimes until about 1929 when they switched to five and seven note sequences from 1929 through 1931.
