Brown Brothers is the oldest Stock Agency in the U.S. and the last of the great photo archives, including photographs from the 19th century to the 1960s.
We will also be offering photographs and historic NYC memorabilia from other agencies and collections.

Harold Clarence Ernst was a star pitcher for the Harvard University Baseball Club during the mid-to-late 1870s. He is famous for pioneering the curveball in college baseball, a pitch so fast and breaking that it forced teammate and captain Frederick W. Thayer to invent the catcher's mask to protect catcher James Tyng.
