We're not quite sure who Benedict is - for obvious reasons they've chosen to stay in the shadows - but the artist's previous, ultra-limited EPs have all paired driving, classic-sounding house grooves with sampled r&b vocals. EP number three takes a similar approach, albeit with a far greater focus on the music and fewer, shorter vocal elements. first opener 'Heathen Glow', where short vocal loops, sparkling synth riffs and dreamy chords ride snappy, TR-909 drums and a heavy TB-303 bassline, before admiring the late-night deep house shimmer of 'Line Is Cut'. 'That Thing Is Good' is slightly breezier and more soul-soaked while retaining the propulsive thrills of heavy analogue bass, while 'Good To Me' is a gorgeous, early 2000s style garage house style workout with glossy melodic motifs.
