The 2014/15 season was a demanding campaign for Hertha BSC, who finished 15th in the Bundesliga with 35 points, narrowly preserving their top-flight status ahead of Hamburger SV on goal difference. A change of management in February saw club legend Pál Dárdai replace Jos Luhukay and guide the Berlin side through the closing months of the relegation battle. The squad featured established figures including Salomon Kalou, Genki Haraguchi, Valentin Stocker, Peter Pekarík and goalkeeper Thomas Kraft. The campaign proved an important transitional year, with Dárdai remaining in charge and subsequently leading Hertha to significantly stronger Bundesliga finishes.
