In 1921 the Wahl company produced their first self filling pen under their own name, the Wahl All Metal Fountain Pen. It was also known as the Wahl Art Deco pen.

This pen features an engraved ‘Chevron’ pattern in a gold filled finish.

Contemporary lever fillers, with a metal casing, were made by overlaying the metal on to a hard rubber pen, but Wahl, largely because of their vast experience in working metal, were able to dispose of the hard rubber and build an all metal case.

The all metal construction was revolutionary, it represents an important milestone in the evolution of the fountain pen.

The Gold filled casings are in excellent condition and the imprints are clear and crisp.

Unfortunately it is missing the ring that goes in end of cap.

The lever filling system works well and has been fitted with a new sac.

“14k Wahl #2" is stamped on the nib. This confirms it is the original 1920s factory fitted gold nib which is highly desirable.

Wahl #2 gold nibs are legendary among vintage pen collectors for their varying degrees of flexibility.

The pencil, a perfect match for the pen, operated by turning the cap to expel the lead with a manual retract.

The capped length of the fountain pen is 9.4 cm., excluding the ring, and grows to a very usable 12.8cm. when posted.

This set is in beautiful vintage cosmetic condition with light surface wear consistent with age. No major dents or deep scratches observed.

Will be packed securely in a sturdy box with bubble wrap to ensure safe transit.
