The central artwork depicts a young maiden with a bouquet of flowers and a broken water jug over her arm, reproducing his highly famous 1771  sentimental masterpiece,

"La Cruche Cassée" (The Broken Pitcher) by French painter Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725–1805).

which hangs in the Louvre Museum.

Signed "GREUZE" on the front lower right of the image, 

the plate features an elegant, embossed decorative rim highlighted with stippled gold/gilt paint trim, making it a perfect piece for an antique porcelain collection, a gallery wall, or a Victorian-themed display.
