WITH ITS ORIGINAL BOX.
Good. Circa 1925.
Ideal gift for special occasions or collectors. Set and box are good, no breaks, no picks. This is the original case. The set is not personalized. Probably not used, but it is not completed (Please check all images and read below). Received by inheritance. The golden seal it has is from an important and old commercial house in the city of San Jose de Mayo, in Uruguay.
SUMMARY
Rare 1920s-1930s German Art Deco writing desk set manufactured by J.S. Staedtler (Bavaria).
The collection features a 16 cm red-brown bakelite/celluloid dip pen holder (nib missing) and an ultra-miniature 4x3x2 cm clear glass inkwell with a matching colored lid.
The items are housed in their original 20x7x3.5 cm high-density cardboard presentation box, covered with an exquisite blue, green, and ocher marbled paper pattern and fitted with stamped brass floral hinges.
The inner silk lining displays the original stamped fabric ribbon with the pre-1940 J.S. Staedtler "Moon Mark" logo and a central golden medal.
Total weight is a lightweight 154 grams.

Up for sale is a beautiful and highly collectible antique German writing desk set from the prestigious maker J.S. Staedtler, crafted in Nuremberg, Bavaria, during the Art Deco era (circa 1920s–1930s). This scarce set features the iconic early company branding, including the charming crescent moon face logo stamped onto the interior silk accent ribbon alongside the text "J.S. Staedtler - Bavaria".
Component Specifications:
Original Presentation Box:
Measures 8" x 2.75" x 1.4" (20 x 7 x 3.5 cm). Made of period-accurate high-density rigid cardboard covered with a striking marbled paper technique in organic shades of green, blue, and ocher. It retains its authentic brass floral hinges.
Dip Pen Holder:
Measures 5.2" (16 cm) in length. Lightweight, ergonomic red-brown bakelite/celluloid body. Please note the metal calligraphy nib is missing from the tip.
Miniature Travel Inkwell:
Measures 1.6" x 1.2" x 0.75" (4 x 3 x 2 cm). Features a thick clear glass base with a matching red-brown lid. The interior is completely clean and free of old corrosive ink residues, preserving the piece beautifully.
Total Combined Weight: 5.4 oz (154 grams).
Condition Report:
The set is in beautiful vintage condition given its age. The marbled exterior paper shows light, honest edge wear consistent with a 100-year-old cardboard box. The inner cream satin/silk lining remains intact with minor age toning. The glass inkwell is exceptionally clean with no chips or cracks. The pen holder is sturdy and ready for a replacement nib. The secondary accessory slot inside the case is currently empty (originally held a small letter opener or pencil). Please review all high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic details.

Shipments are made with appropriate and sufficient protection. Large, heavy, or fragile items are meticulously packed with professional materials, using bubble wrap, double-layered envelopes/cardboard, and a sturdy box to ensure safe transport.
Note: The measurements are approximate and should be considered with reasonable tolerance for the objects, even more so if they are small (+/- 5 to 10%).
IMPORTANT: I offer combined shipping. Many of my items have free shipping if send together, and for the rest, shipping will be 50% or less of the cost indicated for each item if shipped together (large items are send individually only).
