The 2020/21 season marked an important stage in Leicester Tigers' resurgence under head coach Steve Borthwick, with the club finishing sixth in the Gallagher Premiership and reaching the European Challenge Cup Final, where they were narrowly defeated 18–17 by Montpellier. The campaign featured established internationals including George Ford and Ben Youngs alongside influential additions such as Jasper Wiese, helping rebuild the Tigers into a competitive force in English rugby. The season also began Leicester's three-year technical partnership with Samurai Sportswear, which supplied the club's matchday, training and leisurewear. Among the most distinctive pieces from the collection was the multi-coloured "Glacier Fruits" training shirt, a vibrant Samurai design that became closely associated with the Tigers' 2020/21 training range.
