Antique 1900s Edwardian Paste Rhinestone Filigree Swag Brooch Trombone Clasp
Beautiful antique Edwardian brooch dating from the early 1900s, featuring an elegant openwork design
of interlocking floral swags, graceful bows and delicate filigree scrollwork. Sparkling clear
paste stones are set throughout the silver tone framework, while the distinctive
crescent shaped sides and elongated pin with trombone clasp are
classic features of fine Edwardian jewellery.
Designs such as this were inspired by the flowing curves of
ornate sash buckles popular during the period.
The brooch remains in good antique condition for its age.
All paste stones are present, although a few have mellowed slightly with age.
There is minimal wear to the reverse consistent with over a century of careful use.
The trombone clasp fastens securely.
Measures approximately 5cm x 2.7cm.
