The 2022/23 season saw Heart of Midlothian compete on four fronts, finishing fourth in the Scottish Premiership while also reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage after beginning the campaign in the UEFA Europa League play-offs. Lawrence Shankland enjoyed an outstanding debut season at Tynecastle, finishing as the club's leading scorer with 28 goals in all competitions and establishing himself as one of Scottish football's most prolific forwards. Hearts also reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup before bowing out to Celtic, having continued their regular presence in the latter stages of domestic competitions. The 2022/23 campaign strengthened the club's position among Scotland's leading sides and secured another season of European football with a second consecutive top-four league finish.
