This Guilford Ty Tabor SN#156 guitar has been a mainstay in the shop, and at major trade shows multiple times. It’s in NOS condition, immaculate and slightly aged now with a few small lacquer checks - it’s completely lovely and is from the original Series Ty models Luthier John Guilford has developed. The first run was internationally successful and started in 2007 at the summer NAMM show.
This guitar has a simply lucious ’59 burst over a broad Tiger Flame Maple top, genuine Honduras Mahogany body, a Rock Maple Neck with John‘s proprietary Shed Neck (tm) finish applied/waxed and oiled. It pre dates all roasted maple necks and arguably was the inspiration for them entirely. Seymour Duncan P-Rails are standard on the model lending three distinctly useable tones - single coil, Humbucker and P-90 options from both pickups. It’s a joy to play and is full of resonance, a bright unplugged snap and perfect action. The Ty Tabor model continues to evolve, the originals like this are very hard to come by. It comes with a G&G Black Tweed Hardshell Case, with plush interior and embroidered lid logo. It’s simply excellent!
