A beautifully detailed vintage crewel wool embroidery of two goldfinches perched on a flowering thistle, worked with fine shading and a good range of stitches to capture the birds' distinctive red, black and yellow markings. Set in a shaped oval wooden frame. I have another vintage bird embroidery listed separately, please see my other items.

Good vintage condition. The wool stitching is intact and the colours remain bright, with no visible damage to the fabric. Please see the photographs for a full impression of the frame and needlework.
