Finely carved Chinese Snuff Bottle made from dark Lacquer with a polished Faux Bois appearance. One side is decorated in delicate gilt engraving depicting an archaic Tripod Ding ritual vessel, a classic symbol of authority and antiquity in Chinese culture.
The reverse features a contrasting light panel with an incised Landscape scene including mountains, trees, and a small dwelling, executed in a literati painting style. The bottle retains its fitted stopper and spoon, complementing the overall form. The smooth finish and organic material create a pleasing tactile quality typical of horn carvings. Collector’s Notes: Snuff Bottles were widely used during the Qing Dynasty and later periods as functional and decorative objects.
