More Details
There’s something about a well-made bowl. It doesn’t have to shout. It just sits there — grounded, confident, useful.
This is a modern studio pottery nesting set by the same artist (signed “SG” and dated). Hand-thrown with visible wheel rings and finished in layered glazes that move between mossy green, oxidized copper, and deep iron brown.
The larger bowl is shallow and wide — almost platter-like — with concentric wheel marks inside that feel intentional and meditative. The insert bowl is slightly deeper, with horizontal banding and beautiful glaze drips that give it character and movement.
Together, they feel:
• Organic modern
• Japandi-adjacent
• Earth-toned and textural
• Functional but sculptural
The glaze variation is part of the appeal — no two areas are identical. The pooling and drip at the rim of the smaller bowl is especially beautiful.
These are modern pieces, but they carry that timeless, handmade integrity that reads collected rather than trendy.

How They Work
• Styled as a nesting set on open shelving
• Salt bowl + olive bowl for entertaining
• Jewelry + catchall pairing
• Small ikebana moment
• Layered into an earthy, tonal kitchen
They have that quiet presence that makes other things around them feel more intentional.
