DESCRIPTION

A Japanese porcelain vase in the elegant gu form, decorated in the traditional Imari palette.

The body is painted with flowering peonies and foliage in underglaze blue, iron red, and gilt highlights.

The flared rim and foot are accented with geometric and scrolling border designs, characteristic of Meiji period Imari wares.
