This is a figural pig sewing tape measure from the 1920s, or possibly even earlier. The body is made of solid brass, and it likely had a gold plating at one time, which has since worn off. The pig measures 2" long. The tape is made of cloth and starts at the 10-inch mark, which indicates that the first 10 inches have been torn off.

To use it, you pull the tape out with your fingers, and when you crank the tail, the tape retracts. Be careful not to wind the tape in all the way, as it can be challenging to pull it out afterward. I recommend attaching a small metal clip to the end to make it resemble its original design and to prevent it from retracting completely inside the pig.
