Desirable Variety & Rim Color!

1956 Proof Franklin half Dollar

Type 1 Reverse

PCGS PF67

Gorgeous intense mirrors and light Cameo over the devices. Original toning in fiery apricot, electric blue at the rims, with a trace of rainbow toning on the upper reverse. Clean surfaces and a premium piece.

The Proof design of the Franklin half dollar saw a design change in mid-1956. The fine details of the eagle often wore away, and a less detailed eagle with bolder features replaced it, along with changes in the lettering thickness. This was supposed to aid in striking better quality coins.
