Imposing pair of large antique Chinese Dogs of Foo finials.

Hand carved from gilt softwood these are modelled as a male and female Temple Dog or Guardian Lion.

The male has his paw on a sphere, representing supremacy over the world, while the female has her paw on a cub, representing nurturing and unity.

They certainly look magnificent and are a great decorator piece.

They measure approximately 33 cm x 13.5 cm x 14 cm each, and have a combined weight of just over 4 kg
