The Basketball Atari 2600 game cartridge comes in an original storage box together with an English language game manual leaflet and an invalid warranty registration card. The game cartridge is an Atari brand product with the Atari reference CX2624 visible on it. The year the game cartridge was produced has not been ascertained but both the game manual and the storage box have an Atari Inc copyright on them dated 1978. The game cartridge is believed to be for use with a suitable NTSC TV and Atari 2600 game console but the game cartridge has recently been tested and was successfully loaded using a PAL Atari 2600 game console with two of the accompanying photographs taken at the time of the game graphics on a PAL TV screen. The game appears to still be playable and there is no loss of colour but it is possible that the colours may be incorrect which is thought to be a consequence of the NTSC game cartridge being used with a PAL TV and Atari 2600 console. Please be aware that due to the age of the cartridge the length of time it can be expected to continue to work is unknown and no guarantee can be given. The game cartridge has a main and end label which are separate. The Atari game cartridges produced with this particular main label design are believed to be collectively known as Text Label game cartridges. There are some scuffs, scratches, dirt and imprinted marks noticeable on both of the game cartridge labels as well as some possible fading of some of the smaller text on the main label. The end label is partly detached from the plastic case of the game cartridge which is most apparent along the top edge. There are no particularly obvious scuffs or scratches apparent on the plastic case of the game cartridge but there is some minor dirt marks and accumulated dirt and dust residue. The approximate size of the game cartridge is 81mm x 97mm x 20mm. There is some discolouration apparent to the folded game manual and some stains and dirt marks noticeable on it as well as some creases and imprinted marks with some more prominent than others. The edges of the game manual appear varyingly scuffed and worn with some indentations apparent in them as well as some rounding and curling to the tips of the corners. The game manual is varyingly curled and bent. There is some discolouration apparent to the warranty registration card and some stains and dirt marks on it as well as some caresses and imprinted marks with some more prominent than others. The edges of the warranty registration card appear varyingly scuffed and worn with some minor indentations apparent in them as well as being slightly torn at the top and bottom where it folds in half. The warranty registration card is varyingly bent and curled. The storage box is a straight tuck box which has a fixed insert inside to secure the game cartridge. The part of the storage box insert which is below the game cartridge appears varyingly creased, indented, bent and torn which is thought to be a result of it being impacted over the years by the game cartridge. The storage box is thought to have been varyingly squashed over the years resulting in it becoming varyingly creased and bent as well as causing various alterations to its form. There is some discoloration and fading apparent to the storage box and various stains, foxing and dirt marks on it as well as various scuffs, scratches and imprinted marks with some more prominent than others. The edges and corners of the storage box appear varyingly scuffed and worn with some indentations apparent in them as well as some softening, splitting and curling to those of the closure panels which has resulted in them appearing varyingly tattered and dog-eared. The approximate size of the storage box is 140mm x 191mm x 23mm. The approximate combined weight of the storage box and contents is 109g.
