AUTOOL HTS705 dry ice blaster is a cleaning device designed for use in the automotive repair sector. It operates by using a jet of compressed air to accelerate dry ice pellets to high speeds, thereby removing carbon deposits. The device can be used to clean carbon deposits from the engine compartment, cylinder combustion chambers, intake valves, throttle bodies and other components.
 
The HTS705 dry ice blaster utilises compressed air as its power source to propel dry ice pellets at supersonic speeds onto the surface of the object to be cleaned. However, it relies not only on the kinetic energy of the dry ice pellets but also on the extremely low temperature of the dry ice to achieve effective cleaning

dry ice pellets are accelerated by a high-pressure air stream and strike the surface to be cleaned. The unique feature of dry ice cleaning is that the dry ice pellets vaporise instantly upon contact, and their kinetic energy dissipates at the moment of impact. A rapid heat exchange occurs between the dry ice pellets and the surface being cleaned, causing the solid carbon dioxide to sublimate rapidly into a gas. The dry ice pellets expand in volume by nearly 800 times within a few thousandths of a second, thereby triggering a ‘micro-explosion’ at the point of impact. Due to the volatilisation of carbon dioxide, the dry ice cleaning process produces no secondary waste, removing only the dirt from the surface being cleaned.
