This antique Staffordshire cottage is produced in glazed earthenware with hand-painted enamel decoration and applied bocage. It dates from approximately 1850–1890 and retains the characteristic concave glazed base with an unglazed foot rim typical of Victorian Staffordshire production. The piece is unmarked, as is common for decorative Staffordshire pottery of the period, and displays well with good colour and crisp moulded detail.
