Up for sale is a vintage Lionel Type 1026 "Multivolt" Toy Transformer, originally manufactured by The Lionel Corporation in New York. Rated at 25 Watts, this AC power supply was famously paired with post-WWII Lionel O-Gauge and O-27 starter train sets. It features a built-in throttle arm controller adjusting from OFF up to 90 MPH markings.
Condition Notes (Please Read Before Bidding/Buying):
POWER CORD DAMAGE: The original power cord is suffering from severe dry rot. The rubber insulation is heavily cracked, brittle, and split, exposing the inner wiring. For safety reasons, this unit has NOT been plugged in or tested, and it must NOT be used until the power cord is completely replaced.
Housing & Components: The black Bakelite casing is in solid cosmetic shape with no major cracks or breaks. The metal throttle lever moves smoothly across the dial.
Hardware: The two top screw terminal posts are intact. The bottom metal base plate shows some minor rust spots and surface oxidation consistent with its age, but all stamped text remains completely legible.
This item is being sold STRICTLY AS-IS for parts, repair, restoration, or display purposes only. It is an excellent candidate for an experienced hobbyist looking to wire in a fresh power cord.
