Here we have a wonderful antique Victorian brass counter bell. This is beautifully made with an ornate cast base and an unusual spring-loaded side striker mechanism, operated by pulling the lever with your finger to produce a clear, crisp ring - it is really quite satisfying to ping it too! It's probably the nicest desk bell I have had, I adore the patina and it has a lot finer detail than many others on the market. It shows classical scrollwork and is finished with an elegant finial. It has all the character and craftsmanship associated with quality late Victorian deskware and would likely date to around 1900. Whether originally used on the reception desk of a grand hotel, in an old library, shop or office, it has a timeless presence that makes it just as decorative today. It measures approximately 4.5 inches by 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
