Beautiful vintage Dixon Kroft ceramic wall plaque featuring a raised relief depiction of a Native American chief. Uncertain what the symbol/image is below the chief. Finished in matte charcoal glaze accented with mottled copper green highlights.
Impressed Dixon Kroft mark on back. Hand finished art pottery. Red earthenware clay body. Base charcoal glaze with copper-green decorative glaze applied on top. Molded recess on back for hanging.
Believed to be from 1970's.
Handmade piece so please expect some imperfections. Nose feels like it has some minor nicks and glaze worn off. Some small edge nicks, no visible cracks or repairs. Glaze run-off visible on the backside. Stand not included.
There appears to be a mold mark in the lower right corner of the piece.
5-3/4" x 7-1/2" x 1/2" (not including the relief/face.) Weight 2lbs. Measurements approximate.
