A beautiful alto (treble) recorder in the Marsyas line by the renowned Swiss manufacturer Küng. Made of pearwood with a beautiful deep wine-red finish.

I would describe the sound as ‘silky’ and consistent across the instrument’s range. It is responsive to a fairly low breath pressure, including the top register (and top F!).

There is a small amount of cosmetic wear around part of the thumb hole—this is only wear to the varnish and not the wood itself. There is also a small patch of scratched varnish on the side of the recorder from a ‘bump’: again, this is cosmetic and does not affect playability.

I have played this instrument in a range of recorder consort situations (baroque to contemporary) as well as with harpsichord—and it has proved consistent and reliable. I am selling it as I have another Küng alto which I am tending to play more than this one, so would like this recorder to find a good home!
