This portfolio contains approximately 80 loose colour fashion plates arranged in four chronological sections:

• 1795–1820

• 1820–1845

• 1845–1870

• 1870–1900

The plates are housed in the original illustrated paper wrappers and original patterned portfolio with ribbon ties.

Each plate depicts women's fashions from a specific historical period and is printed in colour with a blank reverse.

Condition:

Vintage condition with age-related wear, foxing, marks, creasing and edge wear. Original portfolio and wrappers show handling wear and ageing. Plates have not been individually checked against a bibliographic reference and are sold as found. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

Condition:

Original portfolio present with age-related wear, marks, foxing and rubbing. Ribbon ties are present but show wear and fraying. Illustrated section covers show creasing, edge wear, corner wear and age toning. Plates show expected age-related toning and handling wear but remain bright and decorative overall.
