Description

This plug-and-play adapter harness allows installation of a Pierburg CWA100.3 intercooler pump in place of the original LS9 intercooler pump used on the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

The original GM LS9 intercooler pump (GM P/N 15870574) was a high-performance pump manufactured by Pierburg and was one of the highest-capacity OEM intercooler pumps available at the time. Unfortunately, the original pump has been discontinued by GM and is no longer available as a new service replacement.

Many connector-compatible replacement pumps available today flow substantially less than the original LS9 pump, particularly at higher system differential pressures, which can negatively impact intercooler system performance and charge air cooling effectiveness.

The Pierburg CWA100.3 is one of the few currently available pumps capable of matching or exceeding the performance of the original LS9 intercooler pump and provides an excellent replacement solution for discontinued GM P/N 15870574 pumps.

This harness allows the CWA100.3 pump to be installed as a plug-and-play replacement for the original LS9 pump without modification to the vehicle wiring harness. No other vehicle changes needed either (no calibration changes etc).

IMPORTANT CURRENT DRAW INFORMATION

The CWA100.3 pump draws approximately 9 amps.

The OEM ZR1 Corvette (LS9 engine) utilizes 14 AWG wiring and an electrical system designed to support the current requirements of the original LS9 pump. The original LS9 pump was a high-capacity Pierburg brushless intercooler pump with electrical requirements similar to those of the newer CWA100.3 pump. Therefore, no wiring or fuse changes are typically required when installing the CWA100.3 on an OEM LS9-equipped vehicle.

This harness may also be used on other vehicles equipped with pumps using the 2-pin Minitimer connector. However, many older Bosch PCA-equipped vehicles utilize smaller wiring and lower-current fuses because the Bosch PCA pump typically draws approximately 5 amps.

Do not install a CWA100.3 pump unless you have verified that the vehicle wiring, relay, fuse, and associated electrical components can safely support the pump current requirements. Contact us if you need assistance determining compatibility.

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTES

• This harness is designed for use with Pierburg CWA100.3 pumps.
• This harness will NOT work with Pierburg CWA150 pumps. Although the connector is the same, the wiring is different.
• The CWA150 pump should not be used in these circuits because it draws significantly more current than the CWA100.3 pump.
