Up for sale is a Complete in Box (CIB) copy of Rad Racer for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Released in 1987 as part of the Nintendo Sports Series, this high-speed racer is one of the most memorable racing titles on the system. This copy features the REV-A box print.
The set is complete with the outer box, game cartridge, instruction booklet, black Nintendo-branded dust sleeve, and the original styrofoam insert block. (Note: The original cardboard 3-D glasses are not included in this set).
Outer Box: Good vintage condition with honest shelf wear. There is noticeable creasing along the front face, edge scuffing, and minor corner crushing/wear as documented in the photos. The top and bottom flaps are intact with some light storage creasing.
Game Cartridge: Very clean. The front main label and top spine label are fully intact with excellent color. The rear housing has a very clean caution stamp.
Instruction Manual: Complete and fully intact with no missing pages. Shows light handling wear and minor surface creasing on the covers.
Accessories: Includes a clean, red-lettered black Nintendo dust sleeve and the original white styrofoam bottom insert block.
Please inspect all high-resolution photos (referenced as IMG_3276.jpg through IMG_3346.jpg) to see the exact cosmetic condition of this set. It will be shipped securely inside a sturdy box with plenty of protective bubble wrap.
Rad Racer is a fast-paced, third-person arcade-style racing game developed by Square. Players race against the clock and rival cars across 8 different coast-to-coast courses (including the Los Angeles Nightway, San Francisco Highway, and the Grand Canyon).
Vehicle Selection: Before starting, players can choose between two vehicles: a sleek 328 Twin Turbo sports car or a high-performance F-1 Machine.
The Clock is the Enemy: The goal is to reach each checkpoint before your timer hits zero. Crashing into road signs or rival cars will spin you out and cost you precious seconds, but it is not an instant game over as long as you have time left to recover.
3-D Mode & Music: The game features an innovative "3-D Action" mode that can be toggled on or off mid-race with the Select button (requires red/cyan anaglyph glasses). Players can also cycle through three different background music tracks using the Control Pad before the race begins.
