Description
A collection of six polished sliced mineral specimens, each with an irregular rounded or oval outline. The pieces have flat polished faces and exposed natural-style outer edges.
The surfaces show translucent to semi-translucent banding, crystalline-looking centres and areas of dyed colour. The group includes grey and purple, turquoise-blue, dark blue and white, pale grey and white, cream and reddish-brown, and darker red-brown examples.
Several pieces display fine concentric lines following the natural mineral growth pattern. The edges are uneven and textured, with pale beige, grey and darker crust-like outer areas visible around parts of the perimeter.
Objects of this type are commonly cut from agate or similar banded minerals and polished for decorative display. They are often used as mineral specimens, cabinet pieces, small decorative slices or display accents.
