Fantastic Sterling Silver Compote M. Fred Hirsch Co. c1930s-50s
Presented is a lovely sterling silver compote by M. Fred Hirsch Co. of New Jersey, from around the 1930s-50s. This is a solid silver piece, with no added weighting, and is quite well made. The compote is done in a classical style, with clover leaf decorations around the rim and a high mirror finish to the surface. This could be used as a candy dish, a server for small canapes, etc.
The underside of the base is stamped with the hallmark for M. Fred Hirsch Co., sterling, and a product number 251.
All of the black and white lines and spots that you see are reflections.
The compote is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no solder repairs, and no problems whatsoever.
The compote stands 6 1/4 inches tall.
The compote weighs 251 grams or 8.8 ounces.
