Scarce 1 page fair copy musical manuscript of the composer's Canzonetta Abruzzese for pianoforte, dedicated to the Italian painter Dottore Eugenio Cammerlingo.  15 bars on 5 staves.  Once can see on the final bar the piece is not ended.

Camillo de Nardis (1857 – 951) was an Italian composer, conductor and teacher.

Camillo de Nardis first studied and then taught at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples between 1882- 1884, he then taught at the Nunziatella Military Academy in 1885, and then the Palermo Conservatory between 1892- 1897. In the ensuing years he composers, From 1907-1922, he returned to teaching at the Naples Conservatory in 1907 where he taught until 1922. He was then appointed vice-director until 1929. He wrote a harmony manual which was published by Ricordi in 1921. 

As a compooser, he wrote religious music, chamber music, revisions of harpsichord music and solo piano music. As a gatherer of folk music he added Abruzzese folk music references in his music.

Orchestral works include: Scene Abruzzesi, 2 suites for symphony orchestra which were published by Ricordi. His oeuvre includes numerous operettas and operas. An operetta "Un Bagno Freddo" which was given it's premiere at the Parma Conservartory in 1879.  The opera, "Stella" (1898) which was commissioned by the Sonzogno (Puccini's publisher) which was given its' premiere at the Teatro Lirico in Milan.  He also was a prize winning composer for brass band with the work, "Giudizio Universale" (Universal Judgement) at 1878 at Naples National Band Competition and the 1879 Turin National Band competition which is still performed by Italian anmd American bands today and there is a video of the work on Youtube performed by The University of North Carolina Concert Band in 2023.  One can also find pother works by Nardis on Youtube.  Well written in the Italian school, perhaps with a nod to the harmonics of Giuseppe Verdi.

The theatre in Orsogna bears his name as of 1994.
