Gorgeous vintage studio art pottery mug with a stunning earthy look. The bottom half is a rich, speckled mustard brown that beautifully contrasts with a thick, frothy blue and white drip glaze cascading down the rim and accenting the sturdy handle. The interior has a matching warm brown finish. This solid, hefty piece feels fantastic to hold.
This piece comes with a neat bit of local history, originating right here in Titusville, Florida. It was handmade by a talented local artisan who worked with the studio art pottery classes in town, likely around the 1970s or 1980s.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or visible wear. The glaze is beautifully glossy.
Measurements
The underside is hand-signed "Sutton". I also have another unique, completely different mug by this same artist listed in my shop if you love the idea of a coordinating, handmade set! It's a perfect addition to a rustic or mid-century style kitchen, especially if you love unique regional Florida craft history.
