The GMR Great Model Railways Siphon G BR 54307-5 OO Scale Boxed is a replica of a British Railways Siphon G freight wagon, featuring a classic BR Brown corporate livery.
Manufactured in 1979 by Airfix GMR in Hong Kong, this plastic model is to a scale of 1:76 . It is finished in the early Matt brown colour scheme (used by AIRFIX) and is not to be confused with the later GMR version (Produced by Mainline , yes it gets complicated) that has a satin finish
Primarily designed to transport Milk (in churns) they were able to run as passenger vehicles to express times . Increasingly in BR days they were used for other duties including Express Parcels
