Here we have an antique gas pendant light dating from the early 20th century, likely c.1905–1920. It is made of solid brass with original hanging chain and “F” tag to one side possibly for Franklin Switch Company, one side missing. It is fitted with aluminium gallery and clear glass globe. A wonderful surviving example of transitional gas lighting from the final era before widespread electrification. It may have illuminated a shop or a public space like a station waiting room. It has been lightly cleaned but left with its original attractive untouched age related patina. Believed to be British and possibly related to Welsbach type incandescent gas lighting systems. Ideal for restoration, display, or conversion project. It measures approximately 18.5 inches tall by 6 inches by 4.5 inches. This is the only one on eBay of course so get it while you can! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

International Buyers – Please Note:

Import duties; sometimes there will be a charge, I think this is mainly charged on high value items, this is something that the Government enforces to which I have no control of. I declare the value of the parcel as the price the item sold for plus shipping costs.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
