Charlie Duke Apollo 16 Signed 8 x 10 Splashdown Litho

Zarelli Space LOA#: Z007495

An impressive, rare and desirable 8 x 10 vintage NASA litho of the Apollo 16 Command Module 'Casper' approaching splashdown with all parachutes fully deployed - NASA image S72-36291. Charlie Duke, Lunar Module Pilot (LMP) has very nicely hand-signed the litho in black pen with a unique inscription "Casper Nears Pacific Touchdown / 1:45 (CST) / 4/27/72 / Charlie Duke / Apollo 16 LMP".

Apollo 16 launched on April 16th 1972 and became NASA's fifth lunar landing mission. Duke and John Young, Commander landed the LM 'Orion' in the Descartes Highlands, drove the Lunar Roving Vehicle 16.6 miles and collected 95.7 kilograms of lunar samples. The mission splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on April 27th 1972.
