This is a vintage framed picture of a famous early Irish Saint, "St. Brendan the Navigator". He is depicted on a sailboat with his fellow monks leaving Ireland and seeking the Promised Land while also converting people he meets along the way to Christianity. It is said that on the trip they encounter a large floating island which was actually a gigantic fish that helped carry the boat. This picture was made by Galway Bay Designs out of Louisville, KY and the method used is copper repousse/chasing. This artwork showcases intricate details and relief artistry. The use of copper material adds a touch of elegance to this unique piece of artwork, making it a striking addition to any art collection or decor. It measures approximately 17" x 15" (including the frame) and is in its original and beautiful wooden frame with a glass cover. This is being sold as part of an estate sale collection.
