Alexander Calder DLM 173 Cover 1968 Derriere Le Miroir French Modern Art
Authentic vintage cover designed by Alexander Calder for the legendary French art review Derrière Le Miroir No. 173, published in Paris in October 1968 by Galerie Maeght.
This striking composition is one of Calder's most recognizable late graphic creations, combining bold organic forms, flowing black contours and vibrant red, orange, black and white contrasts.
The image perfectly reflects the visual language that made Calder one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. The composition evokes the movement, balance and playful energy found throughout his celebrated mobiles, stabiles and graphic works.
Published during the golden age of post-war French modern art publishing, this authentic period cover was produced for Derrière Le Miroir, the legendary review founded by Aimé Maeght and distributed internationally to collectors, galleries and museums.
Today, original Calder covers from Derrière Le Miroir are appreciated both as collectible art ephemera and as highly decorative modernist wall art.
The vivid colors and strong graphic impact create an exceptional presence once framed, making this piece ideal for contemporary interiors, gallery walls, design spaces and mid-century modern décor.
All items are carefully packed in rigid protective packaging (no tube shipping) to ensure safe international delivery.
