Up for sale is an authentic, original 1942 Coca-Cola metal advertising serving tray. This is a genuine WWII-era piece, not a 1970s reproduction or reissue. It features the classic single-line text mark: "TRADE MARK REG. U. S. PAT. OFF." printed directly below the main Coca-Cola logo. The back is finished in the historically accurate, solid dark olive-green lacquer typical of early 1940s production runs. This was the final metal tray model manufactured by Coca-Cola before WWII war production metal restrictions were enacted.
Condition Note (Please Read Before Bidding):
This tray is being sold As-Is for parts, restoration, collection, or rustic decor.
- Front Graphics: There is severe surface blistering, heat distortion, or chemical solvent damage on the right-hand side of the design. This has caused the paint layers to melt and run together, directly impacting the face and hair of the right-hand figure. There are also tiny, scattered paint splatters on the right edge.
- Reverse Side: The solid dark green backing shows standard vintage wear, including fine surface scratches, lacquer alligatoring, and scattered rust spots/oxidation clustered primarily around the rolled rim and lip.
Despite the graphic damage, the structure remains solid and unbent. This makes it a great, budget-friendly entry piece for a soda memorabilia collection or a perfect candidate for industrial/rustic display. Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to evaluate the exact condition before purchasing.
- Buying implies full agreement and acceptance of all terms and conditions.
