Iconic Lalique France "Perruches" (Parakeets) Amber Glass Vase — Model No. 876

Up for sale is a breathtaking and exceptionally rare example of René Lalique’s "Perruches" design. Standing at a commanding 10 inches tall, this vase is rendered in a deep, lustrous Amber glass that reveals a fiery orange glow when placed in the light.

The Perruches Pattern:

Designed by René Lalique in 1919, this model is one of the most celebrated in the Lalique catalog. It features a continuous, high-relief frieze of parakeet pairs perched amidst blossoming branches.

The "Patiné" (Original Factory Patina):

This particular piece is highly desirable as it retains its original white factory patina. Collectors will recognize this intentional "staining" as a deliberate technique used to highlight the intricate feathering of the birds and the delicate petals of the flowers. This original finish provides a stunning contrast against the dark amber glass, giving the design a three-dimensional "pop" that is lost on over-cleaned pieces.

Condition Report:

Excellent Vintage Condition: No chips, cracks, or repairs.

Glass Clarity: The glass is vibrant and clear with no "sickness" or internal clouding. We took photos with and without the light to highlight the beautiful and natural glass color. The translucent nature adds unbelievable beauty to the piece, allowing it to be displayed in a variety of lighting situations.

Signature: Hand-etched cursive "Lalique" signature on the base, identifying this as an early post-war production (circa late 1940s–1950s).

Base: Exhibits honest, light shelf wear consistent with age.
