Spectacular Bid won Horse of the Year honors in 1980 as well as the Eclipse Awards for American Champion 2-Year-Old and 3-Year-Old as well as Champion Older Horse. Blood Horse magazine ranks him as #10 of the top 100 U.S. Thoroughbred racehorse champions of the twentieth century.
