Minor Clean:

We no longer have our tanks. We used to strip them down to their bones and the tanks would take over. That is why we do a Minor Clean. We clean all the type and cases and blow out and reach in as best we can. Not always successful for every location.

Oil:

After you clean and remove the old oils that have turned to varnish. Now it is time to replace those locations with New Oil so that the machines move like a charm. NOT W-9

 

Adjust:

Now is the time to make sure everything is working like a nice, smooth machine. Over time the type can become out of placement. Or carriages need drawbands for the return. This is when we steal from our dungeon. Sometime we will steal outer frames from our dungeon so we can make 1 working machine.

 

Returns: Why are we not taking returns? We no longer have a store front to sell these typewriters. We are also in our 60-'s and 70's and it is time to be fully retired. They need to be final sales.

Our father passed recently leaving 400+typewriters. We owned Abacus Office Machines and Abacus Computer Center shop in Spokane Washington from 1961-2017. Dean and Trudy repaired typewriters for many years before slowly moving into the computer world.

 

Our father always told us that this was our inheritance, and he wanted us to work for it. Oh yes, we are working for it. We are sure our mum is up in heaven bawling him out for doing this to us. We just laugh. Pop left us a nice home to keep working on them. We get to be with both of them in our memories as we work. Next best thing than having them by our side. We are truly blessed.
