Florence Sarah Winship (1900-1987) (born: Elkhart IN) was an American illustrator, author and designer. She studied art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Winship illustrated such works as: "Counting Rhymes" 1941, "Fuzzy Wuzzy Puppy" 1946, "The A-B-C Book" 1940, "Sounding Rhymes" 1942, "Sir Gruff" 1946, "Woofus" 1944, "Animal A-B-C" 1945, "Woofus & Miss Sniff", "Santa's Surprise", "The Night before Christmas", "The Bird Book" and many other books for children.
