This is an antique silver salver tray. I do not have any information about it or its historical significance. The tray features a round shape with a scalloped or Chippendale-style rim and a gadroon border. It has a distinct engraving, possibly a heraldic device or crest. The crest is of a stag or buck, with what looks like waves/water beneath its neck. Similar antique trays often sit on three small hoof feet or pad feet. This tray does not have feet, but places where it looks like feet may have been removed. I have included photos. Renowned makers of such items include companies like Elkington & Co., James Dixon & Sons, and Sheffield. This tray is marked with multiple stamped symbols and the number “57-5377,” which is hand engraved. I do not have any info on the stamps, as I am not very informed on these particular types of trays. This tray is extremely heavy weighing a little over 2.5 pounds. It is 13.5 inches wide. A gorgeous piece!
