Hi, this sale is for a new can motor flywheel upgrade kit for the early Mantua or Tyco 0-6-0, 0-6-0T or early die cast metal boiler 2-6-2 steam locomotives. This kit will replace the Pittman or Mantua open frame motors found in the early small Mantua locomotives. This kit WILL NOT FIT later versions of locomotives that are equipped with Mantua's can motor Power Drive system or the 2-6-2 with a plastic boiler. This motor kit will also fit in the Mantua 4-6-0 and 4-8-0 locomotives, modifications would be required, if you are interested in re-powering a 4-6-0 or 4-8-0, please contact me before buying this kit. This motor kit will not work in the new version 0-6-0T. If you need a motor kit for the Mantua 0-4-0 0-4-0T, 4-6-2, 4-6-4, 2-8-2, 2-8-4, or 2-6-6-2 steam locomotives, please see my other auctions.

The motor measures 12mm wide x 16mm high x 27mm long, the motor shaft is 1.5mm in diameter and it is 8mm long. The flywheel measures 3/8 inch in diameter and it is 1/2 inch long, the flywheel shaft is 3/4 inch long and it is 3/32" in diameter. The motor draws 50ma with no load at 12VDC and develops 9550 rpm. The stall current is 1 amp at 12VDC, this motor is DCC compatible. This is a high torque motor; This motor will start turning smoothly on 1 volt DC and it is silent when operating at 12 volts. With this motor kit installed, your locomotive will have smoother starts, better slow speed operation, A LOWER TOP SPEED, and reduced operating noise. This motor kit utilizes the existing Mantua worm gear from the old motor. PLEASE NOTE! A worm gear IS NOT INCLUDED with the motor kit.
