For sale is a nice plate made by one of the Paris region
makers and decorated by Feuillet around 1820 . It is nicely hand painted
with a large scene in the center including a lady sitting on a rock with
a landscape surrounding including some mountains in the background. The
rim has lots of nice gilding to it. The plate is in superb condition
with just a touch of little wear. The scene is labelled in gold
underneath - Canton de Bale - which is a part of Switzerland. I am
assuming the lady is wearing traditional clothes of this region. The
piece is not marked except for an incised X or cross as shown but I have
another plate from this set which has the green Feuillet mark in script
under it. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter.
