Masonic Rose Croix 18° & 30° Jewels Set – Collarette with Eagle
DESCRIPTION
Complete grouping of Masonic Ancient & Accepted Rite (Rose Croix / Scottish Rite) regalia comprising three jewels and one collarette.
Included in this lot:
Double-headed eagle jewel with crown and detachable sword (associated with higher A&AR degree, commonly 30° Knight Kadosh) attached to the black collarette with silver edging.
Rose Croix triangular jewel with red enamel cross, pelican motif and crowned suspension (18°).
Larger Rose Croix triangular jewel with silvered cross and crowned suspension (18° variant).
The triangular jewels display the classic Rose Croix symbolism of the crowned cross, radiant triangle and pelican feeding its young — emblematic of the 18th Degree.
The double-headed eagle with sword is emblematic of the higher degrees of the Ancient & Accepted Rite and is widely associated with the 30th Degree (Knight Kadosh).
BACKGROUND
The Rose Croix forms the 18th Degree of the Ancient & Accepted Rite (Scottish Rite) within Freemasonry. It is one of the most recognisable degrees, symbolised by the crowned cross within a radiant triangle and the pelican motif.
The double-headed eagle is the principal emblem of the higher degrees of the Ancient & Accepted Rite, most commonly associated with the 30th Degree (Knight Kadosh). Members progressing beyond the 18th Degree would wear regalia such as the eagle jewel suspended from a black collarette.
This set therefore represents progression within the Ancient & Accepted Rite structure.
CONDITION
Good overall condition with light age-related wear.
Some minor enamel wear and surface rubbing consistent with use.
The sword is detachable and present.
