Own an EXTREMELY RARE French EGYPTIAN REVIVAL mantle or table marble clock (signed by the renowned French clockmaker ROBLIN & FILS FRERES), being an unrestored movement inserted into an unrestored polished black slate stone clock case accented with decorative portions of rouge marble.  Clock case configured into a temple structure which has tapered sides extending to a two level sloped roof configuration accented with rouge marble insets; front face adorned with numerous incised & gilded Egyptian motifs; four decorative recessed round stout rouge columns located at lower each side are intended to appear as though they support the tapered structure; columns are mounted onto the stepped polished tapered slate base; base rests on polished gilded metal trim shoes; all incised gilded decorations assuming Egyptian Revival influences.   

Highest quality ornately gilded 6 ½” diameter faceplate contains engraved & gilded Roman numerals on a black polished slate stone chapter ring with a recessed center of gilded highly inscribed decorative round centerpiece; a small FAST/SLOW adjustment gear centered above numerals; movement is of a solid brass plate two train suspension spring type with adjustable weight bob pendulum; clock face is protected with hinged gilded brass door frame fitted with clear beveled glass which snaps shut against the gilded clock surround; the backside contains a second hinged black painted metal door frame & a friction fit; the melodious coil gong resonates beautifully within the clock cavity; both movement & gong assemblies are mounted securely to case. Various small chips to the polished black slate raised base along each side of the clock case & roof side are barely noticeable (refer to the photos).

I am NOT a retailer.  I am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection.  This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties.  It has been tested prior to this offering.  Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind a clock. Lastly, I cannot guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped.  However, I do take pride as a seller of my clocks & offer setup assistance via emails.

All shipments will be CAREFULLY & PERSOANLLY WRAPPED in bubble wrap (key & pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing foam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into second box filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.

An attempt to describe & photograph each clock in the best possible manner has been completed; therefore, the items are 'sold as seen'.

Any major defect will be stated & a photo associated with this defect is provided which is intended to illustrate the extent of the defect. On occasion, Seller may miss something. Therefore, please notify Seller if Buyer detects any inaccuracy so that Seller may address it immediately. Seller cares greatly about Buyers, making sure the Buyer gets exactly what they want, & that Seller is ready to hear from Buyers.

Unless stated otherwise, all clocks are tested & found in good working order when listed will be tested prior to shipping to complete any final adjustments to ensure proper working conditions prior to shipping.

“Antique”, “Vintage” & “Pre-Owned” clocks require set-up & put into beat after shipping. The clock must be on a level surface to run properly. Sometimes, slight adjustments may be required after transit to get the clock running properly in its new position.

Clock set-up assistance may be offered to the Buyer, via email, to help with making clock adjustments as a courtesy. Alternatively, if Buyer is unsure about making adjustments to the clock, Buyer may wish to enlist a clockmaker at Buyer’s expense.

“Antique”, “Vintage” & “Pre-Owned” clocks are delicate instruments; no guarantees are given or insinuated regarding performance AFTER transit.

Lastly, be aware that “Antique”, “Vintage” & “Pre-Owned” clocks generally don't keep perfect time.
