A vintage print after Joseph Kuhn-Regnier, from an original artwork painted in 1910.

This amusing picture, titled 'Madame Putiphar', depicts a comic caricature of the Biblical story describing Potiphar's wife trying to seduce Joseph.
The original work, and other similar paintings were commissioned by French society magazines at the turn of the 20th century. 

Joseph Kuhn-Régnier (10 December 1873 – 27 December 1940) was a prominent French illustrator, painter, and draughtsman known for his distinctive style inspired by classical art. 
Between 1911 and 1934, he was a prolific contributor to popular French society and humor magazines, including La Vie Parisienne, Fantasio, and Le Sourire.
He was also highly regarded for his detailed, often erotic, book illustrations.

Framed, glazed and ready to hang, this fascinating picture is in good vintage condition with a few minor signs of wear. It measures approx. 41cm x 36cm (including frame).
