This lidded jar was made in Germany in 24% lead crystal ("Bleikristall" is German for "lead crystal"). It's in the shape of a six-petalled flower, and the lid rests of three little sticks of crystal placed between the flower petals. The handle on the lid is also in the shape of a six-petalled flower. There is a label on the lid, but I can't find the maker's name from my usual resources. It's going to be perfect for wrapped confectionery, or for storing small precious items, such as brooches or badges. The lid isn't airtight, so it's not suitable for cookies or biscuits.
The jar is 15 cm (6 inches) tall to the top of the handle on the lid; 14.5 cm (5.75 inches) in diameter across the top from point to point of the petals; and weighs 1.33 kilograms before packaging.
There are no chips, cracks or nibbles, and no visible surface wear. It would make a most acceptable gift.
My packaging is always careful, and I use a mix of recycled, recyclable and new materials, so your order should arrive with you in the same condition it leaves me. Orders placed before 14:00 GMT will be despatched the same (or at weekends the next) working day. Please note that postage costs are outside my control - I simply charge the amount that I pay to Royal Mail or the courier. I make no extra charge for packaging.
