I purchased this new in 2010 and used it for travel. I plugged it into the car today and it powered up. I did not get a satellite signal so guess it needs an update or something or maybe is just so old that it is outdated. All of my original travel info was there and it functioned as expected other than that I could not get a satellite signal. This device has always been well cared for. It is in great shape for being 16 years old and I never used the car mount sticky circular pad, which is included. It powers on while plugged into the cigarette lighter port, but based on my knowledge of batteries, I would not bank on extended battery life when not connected to power. I could be wrong, but expect that this unit likely will require power source to be connected. So battery life when not connected to power is unknown and this device could require constant power source connection. Thanks and please view condition photos. The unit has a little dust in the screen corners, but is otherwise very clean and well cared for, so too are the accessories.
